The sale of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in Spain and it is time to look back to see how things have gone for the South Korean company with the two previous generations of its phablet. At the beginning of the month, the CEO of the Seoul-based firm confirmed total shipments of 38 million units of the Galaxy Note range since its appearance, of which 28 million corresponded to the period August 2012 - September 2013. If now they claim they have distributed 30 million Galaxy Note 2 all over the world are we talking about what Samsung has shipped two million units of its phablet in just over 15 days?
The total number of 30 million Samsung Galaxy Note 2 distributed since launch comes from the General Manager of the company in Taiwan, Andy Tu, who announced it during an event to mark the launch of the Galaxy Note 3. In this way, the increase in shipments of the South Korean device would reach 200 percent compared to the previous year's data.
Galaxy Note 2: Two weeks and two million devices shipped
If we compare the figures provided by Andy Tu with those offered 15 days ago by the CEO of Samsung Electronics, JK Shin, the accounts come out quickly. Without a doubt, we are talking about that Samsung has distributed two million units in just over two weeks, of a device presented more than a year ago and that has been on sale for several months now.
Returning to the data, Shin did not specify in his day which part of the 38 million units in the range Galaxy Note corresponded to the first and what part to the second version. It is now, thanks to the confirmation of the person in charge of Samsung in Taiwan, when we officially know that 30 of the 40 million terminals shipped worldwide, correspond to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Now the question is whether Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sales forecasts announced by JK Shin - remember he posted them on 10 million units - are they realistic or not and if, perhaps, the results of the last 15 days with the second generation of the phablet could presage similar figures for the newcomer to the family. In this sense, it should be noted that in his native South Korea, several sources speak of some Galaxy Note 3 reserve figures somewhat disappointing, although possibly due to the rise in the price of smartphones caused by the latest decisions of the Government of Seoul.
