Images have been leaked that supposedly belong to the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime , the model that would become the flagship phone for the Korean company, surpassing the current model in several aspects. These images also appear to confirm its aluminum casing.
Design and materials: aluminum, frames and speaker

This would confirm the rumors that have been circulating, indicating that this metal would be used in the manufacture of the Galaxy S5 Prime version , which would obviously give the device a much more "premium" look —something that has always been demanded of the Korean company for its high-end models. If the price isn't exorbitant, this move could convince the most demanding users, allowing Samsung to gain a foothold in a niche where it currently has no presence.
The photographs also point to more compact bezels and the relocation of the speaker to the bottom of the device, a solution we have already seen in other devices from the brand to improve audio output when the phone rests on a surface.
Below is one of the images that clearly shows the aluminum back casing and also confirms that the micro-perforations present in the plastic Galaxy S5 are still there. Incidentally, the speaker has been repositioned and is now located at the bottom of the device.
The dotted finish remains , but with a more understated look and a higher perceived quality. Some sources even mention a unibody aluminum chassis , while others point to a combination of a metal frame and a removable back cover. The project has also been referred to as "Galaxy F" in some leaks, although the most widespread name remains Galaxy S5 Prime.
2K (QHD) display and multimedia

Other key features expected in the new Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime include a 2K resolution screen (2.560 x 1.440), easily surpassing the Full HD of the original model, and an upgraded processor, the Snapdragon 805 (instead of the 801), which would integrate an Adreno 420 GPU. There is also speculation that the RAM will be increased to 3GB and that it will run Android 4.4.3.
Diagonal screen sizes of 5,2 to 5,25 inches are being considered , which would result in a very high pixel density and exceptional sharpness for text and icons , improving the reading, video, and gaming experience. This increase in resolution explains the choice of the new graphics SoC, which is much more capable with QHD panels.
Performance, memory and connectivity
The combination of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Adreno 420 GPU should result in a significant improvement in graphics and overall performance, complemented by 3GB of RAM for enhanced multitasking. Furthermore, several leaks suggest 32GB of internal storage as the base model, with expandability via microSD.
In terms of connectivity, it's expected to offer the full range of high-end features: LTE-Advanced for faster speeds in compatible markets, Wi-Fi 802.11ac , Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, infrared, and screen sharing modes like Miracast. A variant with the Exynos 5430 processor , maintaining the rest of the features, may appear in some countries .
Cameras and biometrics
In terms of photography, the roadmaps point to a 16MP main camera with 4K recording and fast focus, plus a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. This would be complemented by a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button and a heart rate sensor near the flash. The most recent rumors rule out an iris scanner and solidify fingerprint scanning as the primary biometric method.
The truth is, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime's advancements over the current model are clear and evident. Many will wonder why this wasn't the model presented at Mobile World Congress, and they have good reason to, as it aims to " correct some of the shortcomings " of the currently available device. We'll have to see how the Korean company handles the launch of the new device , but everything points to a price drop for the "regular" Galaxy S5, which could mean a significant increase in sales. However, nothing is certain at this point.
Strategically , everything indicates that the S5 Prime will aim to occupy the "premium" market space with improved build quality, a high-definition screen, and enhanced hardware. Its price would be in line with the high-end range , and according to sources, availability would be staggered across markets. If these leaks are confirmed, we would be looking at the most complete version of the S5, aimed at those who want higher-end materials and extra power.
