The madness begins. An Ice Cream Sandwich update could be on the way. Specifically, the American company Verizon Wireless would be testing a beta for the Galaxy Nexus, the mobile that Samsung makes for Google. The update could hit the terminals in April.
The news (or rumor) was given on his Twitter account @Black_man_X, considered in the US as someone very well informed. Although there was a version 4.0.4 of Android leaked last January, it was never distributed.
It is not the first time that Android 4.0.5 has been talked about. In January, there was already talk that the Nexus S, also made by Samsung for Google, was testing the new version and that it would be distributed massively in April. At least the two rumors coincide in putting the same date.
Android 4.0.5 would fix many of the small problems that the current version has for Ice Cream Sandwich. Although the launcher and the graphical user interface seem to continue without major changes, the main news seems to come from within. Fix some reboot, battery life, or data glitches and little else for now. Being for the US market it is very likely that it will carry some 4G LTE signal.
It is not the first time that the words Galaxy Nexus and April appear together in a sentence with Android 4.0.5. In February, a table of updates from the French operator SFR was already leaked. Then the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be updated next month and you would not be the only one to receive the new version. Also listed is Nexus S, the second of the terminals sponsored by Google. For those who have it, including myself, it would be quite a surprise to jump from Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread directly to Ice Cream Sandwich without going through the Honeycomb middle station. It almost makes you dizzy.
