If Google has really decided to postpone an update, it is because there were problems with it. One of the benefits of Google choosing not to update to Android 4.4.3 KitKat, with so little left for Android 4.5 Lollipop, is that it would facilitate the transition of users from the previous version to the new one. Why? It seems that Samsung was already in testing with the new Android 4.4.3 KitKat version to develop the update for your smartphones. It normally takes Samsung a few months to release the update after Google releases the new version, and the same goes for the rest of the companies. This would mean that they could dedicate less time and staff to Android 4.5 Lollipop and the launch of the update to this new version for smartphones, and all because of dedicating time to a previous version that comes with very little news.
In general, if Google decides not to release the update to Android 4.4.3 KitKat, it saves work for the development departments of companies such as Sony, Samsung, LG and HTC, which makes them able to actively work on the update to Android 4.5 Lollipop when is launched.
