There are several ways to do it. But in this case we are going to deal with the ones that do not need root so that all of you can access these options without worrying about whether you are root o no.
Recuva
These is one of the ways that we can use in a simple way. Recuva is a computer program that allows us to recover deleted files.
That's right, it's a computer program, so you'll need one for it. It is only available computers with Windows operating system, so if you use Mac OS or Linux you will not be able to do it unless you use a virtual machine.
First of all is disconnect the networks from our phone, that is, both Wi-Fi and mobile data. This is because Android before deleting a file leaves an empty space as a file was housed here. If we act before this space is filled again, we can recover it, if not, it may be permanently lost.
To use Recuva we will have to connect our mobile phone to our PC and activate the option to use USB for data transfer. Then we can act on our phone as if it were another folder on our computer. And we can use Recuva on a regular basis.

Without root access, data recovery apps can't do much beyond recovering photos from cache and thumbnails, but how good or bad is this method? To prove it, we have DiskDigger. And if you don't have a PC at hand or you prefer to do it directly from your mobile phone, all the better. DiskDigger works in a very similar way to Recuva, but directly on your mobile phone, you will not need root and you can do it just by installing it.
Just follow the steps that the application tells you to be able to do a scan and try to recover your files. Diskdigger's basic (no root) search easily takes ten minutes and then returns you an endless list of photos. They are basically the thumbnails of all your photos, so the erased are mixed with those that do not.
It is quite difficult to find in this endless list of photos the deleted photos that you are looking for, although if you are sufficiently desperate, and you don't have root, anything is possible. The result is a recovered photo, yes, but at a much smaller size. What was originally 1080 x 2316 can be converted to 640 x 360 pixels. Much smaller, although at least it is possible to see the content.
dumpster
Sometimes prevention is better than cure, so for this we can use dumpster. Dumpster works like the recycle bin of our desktop operating system, to avoid deleting files automatically. It is not the solution to recover your files, but to avoid losing them.

In our case, We will ask you to locate Photo & Video files and we'll let her do her job. Once it is finished it will show us the results and it will only be necessary to cross our fingers so that the one we are looking for appears among the resurrected. Save your files to the cloud
To prevent it can also work to upload your things to the cloud. We have apps like Google Drive, Amazon Drive, Dropbox, etc. Perhaps it is not the most feasible option because most of these clouds need payment options, but if you have them, it is not a bad option.
