The use of Android terminals to listen to music is excessive. In recent years, music consumption has exploded thanks to the range of possibilities we have to do so. It is rare not to find any random user who does not consume multimedia with their device, and more specifically music, either through streaming applications, listening to the radio or downloading it directly to our device. We can even improve the sound experience, and we are going to demonstrate it by equalize music on Spotify.
It is something that most users do not attend and that the developers of these types of platforms do not usually go to great lengths to focus more on the content in streaming, which is really the goal of these apps. However, there is a possibility to modify the sound emitted by the app and configure it to our liking.
Spotify has an equalizer ... but not quite
We already know that in addition to its immense database, Spotify has a great audio quality. However, the sound can always be improved through its equalizer. This allows us to find the perfect sound for each user. With it you can adjust the bass and treble of your favorite songs and podcasts. In addition, it includes different pre-designed equalization profiles according to the type of music we are listening to.
However, the option of equalization on Spotify is hidden for many Android devices. This is because the Spotify application itself does not include an equalizer, but instead redirects this instruction to equalize to the application that we have installed. For those smartphones that include an equalizer as standard, there is no problem, the option appears automatically in the settings and is usually found in the sound settings of the phone.
But for those who do not appear you have to install another application to equalize. In short, what Spotify does is offer compatibility with different external equalizers, instead of designing your own. Therefore, if we go to the settings and go down a bit through the menu, we will find the section to equalize the music, although we must install a third-party app to redirect us.
Also, on Android, the availability of the Equalizer option varies by device manufacturer. The settings that we select will also be applied as sound settings for other applications, something that we must take into account since it does not only apply to Spotify.
How to equalize music on Spotify
The app that we have chosen to be able to equalize the sounds of Spotify is called SpotiQ, a very simple option but that offers everything we need. Obviously we can choose between other options such as equalizer, since Spotify is compatible with any third-party application, in the event that the terminal does not have a native equalizer. It has a five-band equalizer that you can modify to your liking according to your tastes. You will immediately notice the improvement when you listen to a song, both with the speaker and with headphones.
The application features an incredible Bass Boost system which can add and adjust deep and natural enhancers to our Spotify playlist songs. We can create new playlists by choosing any preset and applying it to songs to take your music experience to the next level, as well as to different musical styles.
First of all, we will have to link our Spotify account. Then, in the Spotify settings, we have to activate a function called Device broadcast status. By activating this option, SpotiQ will be able to make changes to our playlists. To modify the sound to our liking, we have to access the "Settings" section of the application represented by the icon of a gear on the screen "Start". Once in the menu, we scroll down until we find "Equalizer".
Here we find two options depending on the level of customization we want. We can select default sound profiles or create new preset music through the sliders. Spotify will warn us that these modifications of the equalizer alter the volume levels and that it may cause a performance problem. When it redirects us to SpotiQ, it will show us a panel to configure different frequencies and assign them to different musical styles, such as jazz, pop or hip-hop, among many others.
One of the points against the application is its excessive emission of ads. But there is a Pro version that offers us additional options and profiles to find the perfect sound, in addition to eliminating the ads. Of course, if you want to get it, you will have to scratch your pocket and pay 9,99 euros. In addition, you can make automatic backups and save them in Google Drive to have the settings always at hand.
