According to the latest research from WABetaInfo portal, known for uncovering new features of the WhatsApp beta, the popular instant messaging app is preparing a function to send files from Android to iPhone without the need for an internet connection. It is still a feature in the testing phase but is likely to be released in the fairly near future. Keep reading as I explain everything we know so far about this new feature.
Share files without internet, a function in testing phase
From what we have been able to learn in WABetaInfo, WhatsApp would be working on a functionality that we will probably know as Nearby Share or “close sharing.” This new functionality will allow you to send files from Android to iPhone and vice versa without the need for an internet connection.
While it is true that the functionality that will allow us to send files from Android to iPhone and vice versa without internet is still in the testing phase, it appears that this new capability is working correctly and we may possibly be able to access it in the future.
Despite that These tests began on WhatsApp for Android at the beginning of April, its iPhone version has been recently discovered. This may imply that the functionality is being developed in parallel so that it is released at the same time on both systems. So the most likely thing is that we will still have to wait a few months to see it in operation.

And some of the Apple users who have signed up for the TestFlight program warn that to use this new functionality We have to use a QR code to start transferring files without internet. I say some since not all users enrolled in the TestFlight program have access to this new function in the testing phase.
Finally, regarding the quality of file sending, expect this feature to allow the transfer of files up to 2GB without quality loss. This will allow us to share, without the need for the Internet or external programs, large documents, videos and other multimedia files without compromising the original quality of the content.
