File cleaners emerged on Android as a solution to free up space for the limited Android mobiles of yesteryear. Especially the low-end ones, that with installing three applications there was no room for anything else. In those that the app CCleaner was one of the first programs to bet heavily on meeting that need.
This company has remained one of the reference options for cleaning mobile storage and eliminating unnecessary files. Currently, with the improvement of operating systems and the inclusion of our own cleaners, the opportunities are much smaller, although that does not mean totally giving up these apps like Ccleaner's.
A tour of the Ccleaner interface
Bought not long ago by the company Avast, the interface underwent changes mainly in the design. This interface is characterized by its simplicity. As soon as we open it, we find a general state of both the internal storage and the RAM memory, represented in bars along the top of the screen. Just below, the app has 4 tools to improve the operation of the terminal.
- A system of improvements to hibernate apps in the background.
- Quick data and cache cleaning tool.
- Multimedia viewer for photos and videos.
- Summary of installed applications.

We also have a drop-down side menu, in which the same functions mentioned above reside, although it adds a section called "Adviser". In it, a more exhaustive storage analysis is carried out on the apps we use during the day. Through this diagnosis, it will determine if the less used programs should be disabled or directly uninstalled, as well as performance improvements for those that we use a lot but consume a lot of resources. Definitely, learn from our use of the terminal and offers advice based on that usage.
Is it advisable to use an app like Ccleaner?
There is currently a lot of controversy about whether the use of these apps do more harm than good on the smartphone. The truth is that much of the information it claims to collect or delete is not quite real, not to mention the excess of authorized permits that it requires. Only, the functions that they fulfill perfectly is the cache cleaning and the elimination of duplicate multimedia content. They are simple tasks but they save a lot of time doing them from the app itself.

For the rest, both Ccleaner and any other cleaning app, does not accomplish anything beyond what we can do ourselves. They do not really help to optimize the terminal, since its operation consists of closing multitasking processes and programs. This generates immediate profit, but it causes them to reopen from scratch, with the consequent extra expense of CPU and battery. In short, we recommend using Ccleaner exclusively for simple tasks such as clear cache data or delete photos and videos unnecessary or repeated.
