What was a beta version has now become official. The General Directorate of Traffic has launched its own app called miDGT. Its main function is to consult different road data, such as the driving license and data of our cars or other vehicles.
The app, as we say, is already available to everyone on Google Play. Therefore, we are going to explain the most important aspects of it, and check if it is worth it or not to have it installed on our Android device. It is not an app that has been developed lightly, since the idea is formulate a law that regulates the permission to show the data from the mobile, in case you forget your driver's license.
How the registration works in the app
When opening the app, we will have to complete a form, so that the database matches our profile. We must access through the Cl @ ve platform, the same one that is used to obtain the draft of the rent, and once we click on "Access with Cl @ ve electronic identity", we can access the app through several tracks.

Each one has a different access mechanism and although there are some less tortuous than others, we can choose any of the routes that is more comfortable for us. In any case, our ID, phone number or driver's license will be necessary to register and for the app to verify our identity.
In this step, patience will be rewarded, since loading speed is conspicuous by its absence. This is because the registration takes place on a website, that is, externally. When everything is finished, we will return to the app interface as normal. Finally, let's bear in mind that if you are one of those who are not registered on the Cl @ ve platform, you must have a digital certificate For this, you have to request it in person at the corresponding office, or via the Internet.
The driver's license and the car papers, always with you
In this way, you can now enjoy an entire electronic central that collects the various user data. Points of the card, traffic history in case we have committed any infraction or road crime, in addition to the photo and dates that our document has. Thus, we can use our data electronically in case the physical documentation is lost, so that the card we carry in our wallet, we can bring driving license virtually in the app. To demonstrate the authenticity of the document in the app, we will use (or rather use the authority) the QR code that appears below, to show all our data. In addition, by clicking on the icon you see in the upper right corner or by sliding the screen to the left, the "back" of the card will appear with the licenses we have, date of issue and expiration.

.
It is even possible to consult the data about our vehicles. In this section we are going to stop a little more, since it offers us in a synthesized way the "papers" of our cars, motorcycles or any other motorized means of transport that we have.

Such data can be ITV reviews, technical data sheets, history of traffic fines or if it has been re-registered. And what's more, we can check authenticity of those in front of us through the mobile camera. Something useful for buying and selling second hand.
Procedures with the DGT, still in "soon"
Likewise, the management of these issues such as payment of fines, purchase of fees or request for appointments, can be made from the app, although these functions are not implemented at the moment, but they are announced and will arrive in the next updates.
