Sharing files with our friends and acquaintances is a task we do on a regular basis. Vacation photos, college notes, the latest viral video from the internet… We transfer files relentlessly, and we usually depend on the internet. However, today we bring you apps to share files without internet that do not require using or WhatsApp.
Mi Drop: Xiaomi's solution
The first application is called We Drop and is owned by Xiaomi. It comes pre-installed on your devices, but you can get it through the Play Store. To share files with your friends, both of you must have My Drop installed.
Its operation is extremely simple. When you open Mi Drop, you will see two buttons: one to send and one to receive. Each one must choose the corresponding option. The sender will then choose the files to send and, without using data or internet, it will be transferred to the other mobile. They assure that it is 200 times faster than Bluetooth. In case of interrupting a download, you can restart it without problem from the place where it was paused.

It has no file size limit or advertising included. Use Wifi technology without connecting to any network. Basically create a connection as if you were connecting to your router, but between the two mobiles. It is available in the Play Store for all Android devices:
Files Go: Google's solution
Files Go It is an application owned by Google that is currently in beta status. Its apk was unintentionally released, causing anyone to install Files Go. The search engine then had no choice but to open the doors completely and offer this application through the Play Store for everyone.
In essence, Files Go is a File Browser that seeks to keep your mobile clean by eliminating unnecessary files. And, although it is not its main function, with Files Go you can also establish a "hot spot" as with Mi Drop.

It works exactly the same as Mi Drop. The sender must press the Submit button and select the files, and the receiver must press the Receive button. The connection will be created and the transfer will begin. Google does not mention how fast it is compared to Bluetooth, but presumably using the same technology the results are very similar. What they do say is that it is a offline connection, fast and, above all, secure.
The main advantages of using Files Go over Mi Drop lie in the extra capacities from the Google application. It is a file explorer and a cache and junk file cleaner. If you need those options, you may want to go for Files Go. You can download it through the Play Store:
EasyJoin: Pushbullet's rival
EasyJoin is what we could call the underdog, Pushbullet's smaller rival. Its developer defines it as an application with which to send messages, links, files, folders, pokes (like the old MSN buzzes) and notifications between devices.
While PushBullet uses connections via Wifi, EasyJoin chooses to offer alternative routes. These tools tend to stand out more for connecting our PCs and mobiles, but they can also connect several smartphones to each other. EasyJoin offers you the option to create a hotspot to connect another phone to share files with a single click.
You should go to the Settings of the app and go to the section Wifi Hotspot. The first option is called Create Wifi Hotspot. Once you press it, your mobile will act as a Wi-Fi network to which others can connect. Therefore, you will have to create this hot spot on the phone that has the files to send. Using another phone, search through the Wi-Fi connections for the SSID of the hotspot - by default it will be called EasyJoin.net. Connect and it will be a matter of accessing the files you are looking for.

In the same way, EasyJoin can detect the rest of the devices with the app installed. If both mobiles have EasyJoin installed, they can be added to Trusted devices and the connection will be just as simple. All you have to do is select the device, choose the option to send files and select them. The same kind of Hotspot connection will be created for file sharing.
EasyJoin is a tool very complete but more archaic and uncomfortable than Mi Drop or Files Go. It is recommended especially if you are looking for a substitute for Pushbullet focused on file transfer and that does not put size limits on you.
If you are interested in trying EasyJoin, you have two versions in the Play Store. The first is called Essential and it is the basic one. The second is called Phone calls & SMS and adds the ability to manage calls and SMS from other devices.
Use Bluetooth if you are not convinced by these file sharing apps
In case none of our solutions convince you, remember that all current smartphones have bluetooth connection. Not only does it serve to connect your mobile to a speaker or car hands-free, but you can also connect to the smartphones of your acquaintances to share files.
Activate the Bluetooth connection of both mobiles. Choose the files you want to transfer and in the share menu choose the Bluetooth option. If the receiving device is visible, you can select it. Once the shipment is accepted, the transfer will begin. An option always present but little used. Among its disadvantages is the fact that is slower than the rest of the file sharing apps that we have mentioned, but its main advantage is that is present on all devices without installing any extra application.
