The impact of the light emitted by the phone alters the rhythm of sleep and prevents you from sleeping well. The phone has become an enemy of sleep but it can also become an ally thanks to features, tricks and applications that will make sleeping easier. One of the main tips to be able to rest is put an end to annoying notifications at night.
Some applications, such as WhatsApp or Twitter, allow you to silence notifications and adjust notifications only as you see fit. In the case of WhatsApp, for example, you can mute conversations individually so that the earliest or late-night friends do not disturb. Other applications, however, do not allow this function but can be terminated from the Android phone settings.
If you want to silence all notifications you can access the settings of your phone and activate the silent mode. However, Android allows you to go further and you can activate only "priority" interrupts. Just go to the sound settings section on the device and configure the alarms in the "interruptions" section. Thus, you can allow the phone to ring in case of calls only from desired contacts or alarms, for example. In addition, the priority mode can be activated indefinitely or for a specified time so that it is automatically deactivated when waking up.
However, if you want to silence only one application and keep all the others active, you must click on the icon of the specific application until you access its information and settings or access the application settings from your phone's settings . Once in the information screen of the application, several options will appear such as deleting data, uninstalling, force stopping and the most interesting: show notifications. Enough with disable the 'tick' of the box corresponding so that notifications of that application stop appearing. You can always go back to the same screen and activate them if you regret it.
If you are not only bothered by night sounds and also by lights, you can deactivate the notification LED that appears on your phone when a message arrives, even if it is muted. To do this you must go to the notifications section in the phone settings. Once inside the settings you can activate or deactivate the LED notifications and make the phone not light up at night on the table, without disturbing sleep.
If you are not able to leave the phone until the exact time to sleep and you do not want the light to affect you when it is dark, Android has a Night Mode which will reduce blue light and activate a warmer tone and glow on the phone that will less affect sleep. To activate it, simply scroll down the quick settings menu and select it. If the "night mode" option is not available by default, you can add the icon in the menu settings.
With notifications disabled and the screen ready to sleep, the phone will no longer be a problem to rest properly.
