Big Launcher is one of them, which turns the Android mobile launcher into a simple set of large buttons, which greatly facilitates the use of it for the elderly, and people with visibility problems.
The default configuration presents us with six button blocks, and an upper button that shows us the date, time, alarm, and if we have configured it, some more details such as the battery and the level of coverage of the device. These six button blocks bring together the main thing, which is the telephone, where we have the ability to call, view missed calls, and navigate between our contacts, all in large size. Second, we have the messages, where we are allowed to write new messages, see the new SMS, and the most recent. Something remarkable is that when we have new calls or messages without consulting, the block blinks very clearly, informing us that we have something pending to consult.
The last four blocks gather an icon that opens the camera, an icon that takes us to the gallery, and one that opens a menu with all the available applications. But without a doubt, the most interesting is the SOS button, which can be configured to react automatically when pressed. Two types of configurations can be made, one that sends an SMS when we press that button, and another that begins to execute a call. The text message can include a predetermined phrase and be sent to a number that we have previously configured, which can be that of a close family member who can assist the person who needs help. In addition, you can even send the GPS position, to inform us of where we are. Of course, as it is relatively easy to touch the button by mistake, there is an adjustment that allows us to mark a delay in the beginning of the execution of this reaction to the touch of the button. During the course of this delay, the process can be canceled, if not, it will send the predefined SMS.
On the other hand, it can be configured so that when the button is touched, it directly dials a phone number and makes the call. It can be an interesting solution for people who may need urgent assistance at certain times and do not know how to handle a mobile device in the correct way. In addition to this initial screen, you can configure more screens where you can have applications, with shortcuts to these that can be seen very clearly. You can even change the icon you want on the home screen for a contact that we can access directly.
