They are of a different level, yes, but there are not as many differences as in the case of the Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Samsung Galaxy S8, for example.
There are also differences in the multimedia characteristics of the two smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has a 5,2-inch screen with a Full HD resolution of 1.920 x 1.080 pixels, with Super AMOLED technology. The screen of the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) is almost the same, but the resolution is HD of 1.280 x 720 pixels.

With that price difference, in my opinion, the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) is a better option, considering that the Galaxy A5 (2017) is not a high-end smartphone.
