The Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 will not be presented
Last year, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 was the high-end processor that was introduced at the beginning of the year. However, at the end of 2016 the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 was introduced, an improved version of the processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 was integrated into some high-end smartphones presented at the end of 2016, as was the case with the Google Pixel, and the OnePlus 3T, as well as in some high-end phones from 2017, such as the LG. G6.
It seemed that this year a Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 would also be presented that would be somewhat better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 that was presented at the beginning of 2017. It had even been claimed that the Google Pixel 2 would have the new processor, as it happened in the case from the Google Pixel last year.
However, it finally seems that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 will not be presented, so the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will be the only high-end processor that Qualcomm will have this year 2017.

Apparently, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, the high-end processor that would be presented in 2017, would arrive integrated in smartphones that could be presented in January. It won't be like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, which didn't hit the market until April. It would not be very logical to present a high-end processor, when a few months later a better processor will be presented.
Obviously, the Google Pixel 2 was not going to be a much better mobile either with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor. So, in general, we can say that the mobile will continue to be high-end, and one of the best mobile phones on the market.
