Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S3 International would upgrade to KitKat

  • Concerns have been raised over the lack of an update to Android 4.4 KitKat for the international Samsung Galaxy S3.
  • A leaked document confirms that the Galaxy S3 will indeed receive an update between April and May 2014.
  • The document also mentions updates for other models, such as the Galaxy Note 2 and Grand 2.
  • Although the information is not official, it is good news for Galaxy S3 users.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The alarms went off when the information appeared that indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S3 International was not going to receive its update to Android 4.4 KitKat. However, it appears that it was false information. At least we have other information that has been leaked today indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S3 International yes it will receive the update to Android 4.4 KitKat, and that it will do it between the months of April and May.

We can know everything from the photograph of a document in which the logo of the South Korean company appears, the name of the different smartphones that will be updated soon, and their versions, as well as the dates on which they will receive the update. The Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 appear, and it appears that they would update in February, a date that has already passed, and that has been fulfilled, since the terminals are receiving updates in different regions of the world. However, what is surprising is the presence of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Anyone could say that it is the American version, which is going to update because it has a larger RAM memory of 2 GB. But it is not like that, it is the International version, since the model, GT-I9300, is specified. And the date on which you would receive the update is also given, between April and May of this year 2014.

Samsung Update

It is not the only smartphone that appears on the list apart from the two mentioned. There are also two others, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. It was already expected that these two terminals would update to Android 4.4 KitKat, but the document does indicate the date on which these two will receive the update, and that it will be the same as the one that was once the company's flagship, sometime between the months of April and May of this year 2014.

Of course, it is still a photograph that does not have official confirmation from Samsung, and that could well be a fake by some user. Be that as it may, it is always good news to know about the possibility of updating a smartphone for which that option had been ruled out.
