Pokémon GO has been launching news lately to give a new impetus to the game. One of those firsts is the water-type Pokémon festival that started yesterday. But with it we have discovered that Pokémon Variocolor, or Pokémon Shiny, are already in the game. This is how you can get the Red Gyarados.
Pokémon Variocolor or Pokémon Shiny
Its name varies, depending on whether we read it in the English version, or in the Spanish version. Here we know them as Pokémon Variocolor, and they have actually been present in the game almost from its inception. A small percentage of each species of Pokémon is available in a special color, and these are called Shiny Pokémon in English. But within these, there are some that stand out for being unique and having had a key role in the game or in the series, such as the Red Gyarados, one of the first Pokémon Variocolor to arrive in Pokémon GO.
How to get the Red Gyarados in Pokémon GO
It was not a normal Gyarados, but a red one, appearing only once in the game and in the cartoon series. And it is the first Variocolor to come to Pokémon GO. Well, it is not the only one, and to give logic to the game, there is also a Magikarp in a special color, gold.
The easiest thing to do is to use the areas where water Pokémon appear, and which are more active these days, to try to locate a golden Magikarp. The chances of it appearing are really low, and there is nothing we can do to make it more likely to catch it. However, if we get Magikarp candies at the same time, we should not use them to evolve any until we have obtained the gold one, which will evolve into the Red Gyarados. With the current Pokémon GO event it is the easiest time to get this Red Gyarados, then it will get more complicated.
