Google Maps is updated with high resolution images

  • Google Maps has updated its application with new interesting options for users.
  • High-resolution image display is incorporated to improve the search experience.
  • 45-degree aerial view is added for better detail and distance perception.
  • Image loading speed has been improved along with minor bug fixes.

Google Maps is updated again. It was just a couple of weeks ago that new options were included in this application and, as of today, a new improvement is available. It's funny that this happens right now, when Apple has so many problems with its own map development… right?

The fact is that one of the best known and most used Google applications, apart from the Gmail email client, has interesting news. Perhaps the most notable is the addition that allows you to use high resolution images (HD) when it comes to finding locations. It is true that this has as a consequence a greater consumption of data, but the truth is that the results are really impressive and the appearance of what is seen on the screen is excellent. Of course, not all places in the world can be seen at that quality, Spain is among the available areas, but little by little they will all be incorporated.

45 degree vision is also added

Another interesting novelty is the possibility of seeing cities with 45 degree aerial view. That is, you can better appreciate the details and even better establish the distances between locations. For now there are 51 places that offer this possibility, unfortunately none in Spain, but as usual in Google Maps, the number available will gradually increase.

This is an interesting addition that, as you can see in the image above in which the tower of Pisa is seen, the details of the monuments are much more visible and, therefore, they give this application an additional plus when it comes to seeing places of interest. As usual, this update has also fixed some minor bugs and, in addition, we have verified that the speed when displaying images on the screen is somewhat faster.

Google Maps, as a rule, is installed on the vast majority of Android devices, so the update notice appears automatically. In the event that you do not have this application, you can download it from this link from Google Play. Compatibility with the different Android versions is very high and the size of the download depends on the installed version of the operating system.
