Last year, a number of applications began to appear that promised to improve the performance of smartphones. Greenify is one of them, and has just been updated, now allowing it to be installed and used on smartphones without root. Some functions are not active, but the essence of the application does work without Superuser permissions.
The application appeared promising to save system resources with the applications thus allowing to improve the performance of the smartphone. But in addition to that it also saves battery, by reducing the use of resources of the applications. Until now, Greenify was an application that was only compatible with smartphones with Root permissions. However, the latest update already allows it to be installed on smartphones without rooting. Thus, it can be installed on any smartphone or tablet, without the need for Superuser permissions.
We find that some of the application's functions cannot be active without Root permissions, something that is totally logical, such as the option to hibernate applications automatically. However, we can do this manually, and some options have even been added so that the hibernation of the applications can be executed manually but more quickly. For example, it is now possible to include a shortcut in the start menu according to which to hibernate all applications at once by pressing this button. Greenify even includes a new feature, which is to control those applications that include recurring notifications and that steal space from our notification bar.
Best of all, the application could only be installed and used with root permissions before, but now it is no longer necessary. Also, far from being a useless app that ultimately doesn't do what it claims, Greenify is popular for being an effective resource-saving app. Of course, it is only compatible from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
