Access to notifications, what is it for?
It came as a novelty for Android KitKat, but it was one of those novelties that did not "interest" users, but developers, and whose advantages users will not perceive very well for some time. There are already many applications that make use of access to notifications. What is it for? So that an application can see notifications from the smartphone. An example: the Xiaomi Mi Band bracelet can vibrate every time we receive a notification, letting us know that we have received something. A launcher may want to take into account all notifications to display them in some way on the screen. All not to mention the applications that can be activated as screen lock windows. Generally, the applications that have these characteristics, when they are installed or executed, take us to the Notifications Access so that we can confirm their permission. However, this has generated a problem, and that is that many of us did not know how to reach this setting.
How to modify the «Access to Notifications» on your Android?
There are applications that, although they require Access to Notifications, do not take us directly to this window, so we have to be the ones who get to it ourselves. On the other hand, when the application has automatically taken us to this window, we may have run out of battery, or we may have accidentally closed said window. What can we do then? Unfortunately, not all smartphones have the same Settings menu, so this option is in different places. However, there are two main ones. The first one is the section Sound / Notifications, that you should find in Settings. Here you should find the Access to Notifications option, and it will probably be where it will be if you have Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, if you have an Android KitKat, as is my case, it is possible that the Access to Notifications option is in Security. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it will be in the Device Administration section. By clicking on this option you will be able to see all those applications to which you can give access to notifications. Now you know where to find it.
