Today almost all users use their Android phones to listen to music, and the audio quality does not depend on the headphones only, but also on the mobile. But, it may even depend on the equalization that we have made on the smartphone. Here are some keys to improve the sound of your mobile without installing any app.
Use the mobile equalizer
Your mobile has a built-in equalizer. If you have a mobile that has an Android Stock interface with almost no modifications such as a Nexus or a Motorola, then this is so. If not, it is also very likely that the manufacturer has integrated some type of sound equalizer so you can make the adjustments that you want when listening. In general, these equalizers offer us two options, one for when we listen to music with the mobile's own speakers, and another for when we listen to music with headphones.
To find the equalizer, in many cases you will only have to go to Settings> Sound and Notifications> Audio effects, in the upper section of the screen.
Equalizing the speakers
If you are going to listen to music with the speakers of your mobile you must take into account the quality of these. Except if you have a mobile that stands out for having several stereo front speakers, which is probably not the case, the speakers of your mobile will not be of good quality, so the ideal would be to perform a moderate equalization, seeking to avoid the extremes in both bass and treble, as this will prevent the music from distorting at these extremes. Still, there is little we can do with poor-quality speakers.
Equalizing the headphones
We have many more options when it comes to equalizing the headphones. Basically, the equalization for when we use our headphones must depend on the headphones we have, and for that we have to know them thoroughly. There are headphones that shine a lot in the bass, while others have very good treble. The equalization can have the objective of enhancing the treble if we have headphones with good bass and we want to balance, or just the opposite, to enhance the bass if we want the effect to be even more powerful. This brings us to the next point.
Equalize to your liking
Of course, the correct equalization of the sound of any equipment depends on several factors, and one of them is purely subjective. There will be users who prefer music with a treble that shines a lot, as is my case, and there will be users who will prefer the bass more. This, along with the headphones you have, is key to choosing the equalization you are looking for.
The ideal thing to equalize is to put the music that you usually listen to, and then make the small modifications that you think appropriate until you have the best audio you can.
Of course, do not forget one thing, when it comes to equalizing the sound, making large modifications at any frequency is not recommended. Whenever possible, it is better to subtract than add. That is, if you can subtract bass instead of adding treble, better, or vice versa, subtract treble instead of adding bass. And then, make sure that the modifications are only one or two steps, and not extreme, because with the latter you will only lose a large amount of the quality of the audio you are listening to.
And you can't forget something else. When you connect your mobile to the car, for example, through a headphone jack, your mobile will continue to believe that you have connected headphones, when in fact you have connected a computer with its speakers and its own characteristics. Do not forget about this and, if possible, save several profiles in your equalizer, one for each team you make, so you can select them when listening to music with different equipment or headphones.
