London 2012 will have its own application to know the results online

Times change and, little by little, all events do and adapt to the times. Therefore, Olympics that London is celebrated and that begin on July 27 (as well as the Paralympic Games in the same city and that start on August 29), will have your own app for mobile devices to know the results online.

This was a promise made by the organizers of London 2012 from the moment the IOC granted them the organization of the event, and they have fulfilled (there were some doubts, as some media were pushing for this not to be the case). And it must be said that the application is much more complete than you might expect, since it will offer all kinds of information -on the city, sports and athletes-, the calendar of competitions, the results that are being produced and, even, establish follow-ups of the participants by nationality.

Here we leave you the most important characteristics of the best and largest sporting event that is celebrated today:

  • Sports: coverage of all sports (36 in the Olympics and 21 in the Paralympics).
  • Results in real time: you can follow all the results in real time and share this information with your friends and acquaintances. In addition, there will be access to comments, photos, additional information, etc.
  • Calendar: information on where and when each specific event or match takes place.
  • Last News: access to the latest photos, news and results from the Olympics.
  • Medallion: classification of countries by the medals obtained.
  • Athletes: detailed information on the athletes participating in the Olympics. Option to be able to follow the results of the favorite athletes as well as to know their statistics or more interesting data.
  • My games: here the favorite countries are established and, in this way, all its participants are tracked by the application. You can manage alerts, news and set reminders.

Right now it is available for Android (and other mobile operating systems), and can be downloaded from Google Play. The application is free, and works on any device with Android 2.1 or higher (occupies only 4,7 MB). Do not hesitate and download it, it is worth it.
