What is QuickClick and how does it work?
For these cases, QuickClick has arrived. The concept is really similar since the objective is that let's take action in the simplest way possible: via the volume buttons from our smartphone. For example, we can turn on the flash from the camera, make a call, record video or sound, dictate a note and many more things –within each of the actions we will have several options to customize them even more–.
In addition to the above, it is possible open any app, control music (how to skip to the next song), turn WiFi/Bluetooth on or off from the “Configuration” section and, if you have Tasker installed, launch tasks directly. It also allows you to configure confirmation sound or vibration to know that the sequence has been recognized, and even responds when used the volume buttons on the headphones.
If you press the volume buttons you might think that you will alter the audio level, and it is true, but the app takes care of that. reset the volume immediately after running the sequence so that everything is as it was, something key if you are listening to music.
A practical example: you can define that with “+,+,-” the camera opens, or with “-,-” the flash turns on as a flashlight. possibilities are very wide and adapt to your daily use without the need for accessories or root.
Set up sequences on the volume buttons
After this, we must decide the order of the sequence, which can be up to 5 keystrokes across volume up and down. On some devices or versions the app allows sequences of up to six keystrokes, and you can also adjust the time interval between each keystroke to make detection more comfortable for you.
Later we just have to give a name the action, adjust notifications and that's it. The truth is that QuickClick is a really simple and very useful application, especially for those who hate having to unlock and browse through the various menus to perform a simple action such as taking a photo. However, it does not have functions to increase said volume in the terminal, so we can choose other options such as Wavelet to improve sound.
- Flashlight and camera: turn on the flash or take a photo/video without opening the camera app.
- Communication: send a message or initiate a call to a specific contact.
- Productivity: Record a voice note or dictate a text note on the fly.
- System and apps: Open any installed app or turn on/off WiFi, Bluetooth and more.

- Music: next/previous track without turning on the screen.
Tips for use, compatibility and consumption
The default settings allow the app to work in almost any circumstances: locked screen, unlocked and even with the screen off. If you are concerned about consumption, you can indicate that does not work with the screen off and thus avoid a possible increase in energy expenditure. Another recommendation is to exclude it from the battery optimization if your layer allows it, to improve reliability without excessive penalties.
- Open the app and tap “Create new action” to get started.
- Choose the action (flashlight, call, open app, Tasker, etc.) and configure their details.
- Define the sequence with + and − (up to five; in some teams, up to six).
- Activate confirmation sound/vibration, assign a name and save.
One of the drawbacks is that the interface is in English, but each step is accompanied by icons and images which makes the process very intuitive. It doesn't require root or system modifications, so it's compatible with most modern Android phones.
