Samsung is an almost inexhaustible source of hearsay, and of all kinds: patent wars, screens, your own browser… almost anything, even gold editionsOn this occasion, what we've learned is that the Korean company is preparing a new device once its top-of-the-line launches have been completed (the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are its main assets).
The specific model has a codename GT-I8190 "Golden" and it would not be a device oriented to the high range, since there Samsung is perfectly covered, but to the entry range ... in which we must not forget that it always has a good presence and to which, for example, the Music Galaxy we were talking about yesterday. In other words, it seeks to round off the product range and offer phones of all kinds.
No excessive device details
There are not exactly many details that are known about this new terminal, something normal since its existence has been known today. But, among those that are known, are that your camera will be 5 megapixels and that will be available in two colors: blue and white. In addition, it is guaranteed to arrive with Jelly Bean and, of course, with Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface.
Some sources also indicate that this model, which is not ruled out as the future Galaxy S 3 Mini, include a processor dual core and that your screen is 4 inches type SuperAMOLED. If its free price is below € 200, this model is sure to have a hole in the market and, also, in the operators' catalogs -even at zero cost-.
What is certain is that GT-I8190 will arrive in mid- November, so we're sure to learn more specifications soon, as well as their possible results in the usual benchmarks. Not everything has to be high-end, right?
Design and 4-inch Super AMOLED display

The GT-I8190 “Golden” draws on Samsung's minimalist language inspired by the nature, with smooth curves and a comfortable grip. The screen 4-inch Super AMOLED offers resolution WVGA 480x800 and an approximate density of 233 dpi, with deep blacks and very vivid colors. Its body-to-screen ratio is around 59,5%, a balance designed for those who want a compact smartphone and practical. This generation uses matrix PenTile, enough for multimedia content, apps and daily browsing.
Does not count with specific protection against scratches and water resistance certification, and the refresh rate is 60 Hz, suitable for smooth interface transitions.

Performance and memory

Inside, we expect an efficient chipset, similar to that of models such as the Galaxy S3 Mini, with 1 GHz dual-core CPU (ARM Cortex‑A9) y Mali‑400 MP1 GPU, a base that prioritizes fluidity in the interface and HD playback. They accompany 1 GB of RAM and storage of 8 or 16 GB (with about 5/13 GB usable, respectively), expandable by microSD up to 32 GBThis set is ideal for everyday use: social networking, messaging, 720p streaming, and light multitasking.
The platform is closely related to solutions such as ST‑Ericsson NovaThor U8420 at 45 nm, designed for efficiency and good app compatibility. There are editions of the S3 mini family such as the Value Edition (I8200) with a 1,2 GHz CPU and Vivante GPU, but the GT‑I8190 “Golden” maintains the stability-oriented dual-core 1 GHz approach.

Smart software and features

Arrives with Android Jelly Bean and the cape TouchWiz, where functions inherited from the high-end range stand out: Pop up Play to watch video in a floating window while replying to messages or emails; Direct Call, which automatically dials when you hold the phone to your ear from a message; S Voice, capable of executing tasks with voice commands; and Smart Alert, which vibrates when you pick up the phone if there are pending calls or messages. It also incorporates Jelly Bean improvements such as more animations fluent and the integration of the Google search engine with Google Now.
Accesses are added to Samsung Apps and legacy content hubs (Music/Readers/Game Hub, depending on region), as well as enterprise support for ActiveSync/EAS, profiles of MDM y VPN for professional environments.

Cameras and multimedia

The rear camera is 5 SM (2592 x 1944), with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, face/smile detection and digital stabilization. Record video in HD 720p at 30 fps. The front is VGA (0,3 MP) for basic video calls; front-facing camera recording may vary depending on the variant. In terms of sound, it integrates mono speaker, Radio FM with RDS and compatibility with popular formats audio (MP3, WAV, WMA, eAAC+, AC3, FLAC) and video (MP4, DivX, Xvid, H.264, H.263, WMV), also expanding support to MKV/FLV/WEBM y 3GP/AVI for local playback.

In localization, add A‑GPS and GLONASS geotaggingThere is a variant with NFC (I8190N) and support S-Beam. Among the sensors, we find accelerometer, gyroscope, compass/geomagnetic, proximity y ambient light, plus vibration and microphone noise reduction. Without dual SIM, use mini-SIM (2FF) and does not integrate IR emitter.
For synchronization with the PC it is compatible with samsung kies y KIES Air, facilitating backups, content transfers and software updates.
Battery, size, colors and box
Your battery removable is 1.500 mAh, enough for a day of moderate use with calls, messaging and browsing; it offers regular benchmarks of up to ~ 14 h 2G talk time, ~ 7 h in 3G and up ~360–460 h Standby depending on network and coverage. Charging via cable 5 W via microUSB and does not have wireless charging.
The body maintains a compact profile: 121,55 x 63 x 9,9 mm and a weight of around 112-120 g depending on variant and market. It will be available in azul y white, with additional options depending on the market (Marble White, Pebble Blue, Titanium Gray, Saphire Black, Garnet Red, Amber Brown). The box usually includes phone, battery, shipper, auriculares, USB cable y manual. Complies with regulations of usual (up to 1,6 or 2,0 W/kg depending on the region).
Note to avoid confusion: the codename “Golden” should not be confused with the Samsung Galaxy Golden (GT‑I9230), a model with a clamshell design and different specifications.
With this approach, the GT‑I8190 “Golden” is aimed at those looking for a compact terminal with AMOLED screen, dual core, smart home features and comprehensive connectivity, bolstering the entry-level lineup without sacrificing the details of the Galaxy series. Within the line, variants with NFC (I8190N) and regional editions such as I8190L, maintaining the essence of a balanced team for daily use.
