How to access, search and send GIFs from the keyboard
- Quick access: Open the Emoji panel from the keyboard toolbar or by holding down the "enter" key if you have it configured that way. Tap the "GIF" icon to enter the carousel.
- Categories and displacement: The GIFs are organized into several categories. You can scroll sideways to explore themed collections and find quick reactions.
- Search with a magnifying glass: If you don't see the perfect GIF, use the search function (magnifying glass icon). Type your term and SwiftKey will return relevant visual suggestions.
- App integration: In many messaging apps, you simply tap the GIF to insert it. In others, the keyboard might copy it to the clipboard, and you'll have to... catch in the text field. Both experiences are to be expected depending on the app and the device.
Manage your GIFs: Recent, saved and deleted
In addition to sending on-the-fly reactions, SwiftKey integrates utilities for retrieve and sort your favorite GIFs:
- Recent: You'll find a tab that gathers the GIFs you've recently used so you can reuse them without having to search for them again.
- Save favourites: Tap and hold a GIF and select "Save" to pin it. It will then always be handy in your Recents feed.
- Delete saved: If you're no longer interested, tap and hold the GIF and select "Delete." It will still be available in your [device/app/etc.]. original categoryBut it will no longer appear in your Recents.
Common GIF problems and practical solutions
- The GIF becomes a URL: This can happen in SMS/MMS messages or in apps that limit file size. Try using a compatible messaging app, such as Android Messages, or send the GIF in a conversation using a stable mobile data/Wi-Fi connection.
- It does not allow GIF replies: Some platforms open a new message when you attach a GIF. Check the destination app and, if it's a recurring message, send the text first and then add the GIF.

Emoji and smart prediction: shortcuts that speed up your typing
Everyone loves emojis, and SwiftKey is boosting their use with a full panel y contextual prediction.
- Emoji panel: Access it from the dedicated icon or by holding down the "enter" key, depending on your settings. Tap to insert the emoji and use the "abc" key to return to the keyboard.
- Emoji prediction: The keyboard learns your style and suggests emojis in the prediction bar when you type related words. You can disable this feature in Advanced Settings if you don't need it.
- Fast Emoji Key vs. globe: The emoji shortcut key usually replaces the language globe to the left of the space bar. If you prefer to see the globe, turn off "Emoji Quick Key" in SwiftKey settings.
- Fun trick: A long press on the appropriate icon can trigger a small "bomb" of emojis in certain versions, ideal for emphasizing your messages.
GIFs are not the only change and SwiftKey now also incorporates hashtag prediction that will appear as one more language prediction. Also a transliteration system compatible with more languages. The update allows to put an end to some bugs that we had encountered in previous versions as well. For example, the keyboard will no longer be damaged when we delete an exclamation point or when we delete the punctuation. These problems have been fixed.
