Google Photos came as a great service to store all the photos on our mobile thanks to the fact that it began to offer unlimited space. However, the truth is that when our mobile phone synchronizes the photos it also uses up battery, and we might want to avoid that the mobile uses battery to synchronize with Google Photos. This is possible by configuring it to only sync Google Photos when the mobile is charging.
Only sync when charging
By default, Google Photos does not sync photos when we are not connected to a WiFi network. The objective of this is to avoid completely consuming the amount of data that we have contracted in our rate. However, the truth is that this is not the case with the battery. The process of synchronizing the photos also consumes battery, but by default, Google Photos is synchronized to configure the photos at any time, whether the mobile is charging or not, which can lead to the battery being used up when we shoot many photos , because you are synchronizing. Having a WiFi network does not necessarily mean that we are at home or that we can charge the battery. Therefore, a good option is to configure Google Photos so that it only synchronizes the photos in case the mobile battery is charging.
This option is very easy to find, as it is in Google Settings. Not in the normal settings of our mobile, but in Google Settings. Here we go to Backup Google Photos and look for the option "Only while loading." Obviously, what we have to do is activate this option so that the photos are only synchronized when the mobile is charging. In this way, neither the data rate that we have contracted will be spent, nor the battery of our smartphone for the synchronization of the photos.
