Although Google I / O barely had a presence at the opening presentation of the event, it seems that the first Project Tango tablet will arrive in 2015. This has been known because in a small presentation that has taken place at that conference for developers, which is held in the US, this has been indicated.
And we are not referring to specific models for developers, which will arrive earlier, but to devices that are put on sale in the user market. That is, final models. Very good news since these tablets come to be different and to be able to detect the environments in three dimensions thanks to the inclusion of technology created by the ATAP team from Google itself.
But this is not the only thing that has been known, since in the presentation that has taken place there were also people from LG, so it is taken for granted that this company will be in charge of producing the first equipment with Project Tango. In this way, the Asian company would continue to collaborate with Google since everything indicates that the future Nexus 6 it would not be manufactured by them.
What to expect from these tablets
The truth is that the great attraction of the devices that will arrive with this development is the possibility of generating environments in three dimensions, which allows to establish places, find objects and advance in augmented reality environments. Although, certainly, the use that can be given on a day-to-day basis is yet to be discovered.
But, obviously, tablets (it is more than possible that even phones with the cameras needed and different depth sensors), they have an internal hardware that everything indicates that it could be a processor Nvidia Tegra K1 to be combined with Unreal Engine 4 when generating graphics and, in addition, it would have the platform Qualcomm Vuforia, specifically created for the use of augmented reality.
In short, the first tablet with Projetc Tango will arrive in 2015 without knowing its price (the developer model would be worth $ 1.024) and, thus, will give continuity to Google Glass in terms of innovation. Without a doubt, Google is betting on developing new devices with different functionalities that make this company a leader in its sector and a reference for companies and users in innovation.
