Before McKenzie released his prediction - clearly wrong, on the basis of subsequent events - from Google, Sundar Pichai had made a similar announcement stating that the update for the HTC OneGoogle Edition - and also for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition - would arrive "in the next few weeks." It seems clear that the googling he got 'wet' far less than the executive at the Taoyuan-based firm, perhaps aware of the possibility that stricter deadlines could not be met.
The beginning of the update is now in the hands of Google
The same day that the deadline given by McKenzie was fulfilled, from the official profile of HTC America on Twitter it was announced that it had already been delivered to Google of the code 4.4 Android KitKat for HTC OneGoogle Edition, so that the start of the update of the devices is now in the hands of those of Muntain View, who will be in charge of determining when the starting gun is given.
