new Google Play 4.0 design

La Google Play Store renewal comes with a clear focus: discover and purchase content in a faster, more visual and intuitive way.

Google Play has not undergone a look change for a long time. In fact, the platform did not change its design since it went from being Android Market to become Google Play (or Play Store). And that was more than a year ago. But now it seems that Google is working on a new interface for its store, something that would be a pretty big change and that we have been able to know thanks to Droid Life, who are saving the supposed APK of the version 4.0 of Google Play.

Cleaner interface with Holo-like cards

The main novelty of Google Play 4.0 is its new design: simpler and faster interface with Google Now-style cards. Larger images and color-coded headers make it easy to recognize each section.

Looks like we'll find one much lighter interface than the one we were used to seeing, more similar to the Web version of the Play Store than to the version implemented for Android. The home page is still divided into several categories: apps, music, movies, books, devices, etc. but this time the design is divided into standard tiles of the Holo type. Featured Content appears in its own box but in turn divided into three entries highlighted by the Play Store. The list of Apps and other content continues to appear as a banner across the screen. Sliding through it, either to the right or to the left, we will see the best-known apps in each of the proposed sections, and best of all, with an interface much more visual than the current version.

As we can see in the screenshots, the application has been completely redesigned with a perspective directed towards user experience, which is now more Holo-like than ever, something Google seems to like. Also incorporates new fonts, such as category titles, larger images, and a few square styles that are close to what Google has already been doing in Google Now.

Simplified and integrated purchasing

Payment has been made simplified to reduce steps. In the in-app purchases A secure pop-up window appears that allows you to pay without leaving and returning to the same point, improving the continuity.

It also improves the performance: tokens, captures and youtube They load faster and the action of install or uninstall remains visible at the top when we scroll.

Most useful results, searches, and recommendations

The search engine maintains its structure, but offers a most pleasant experience with fonts that separate sections and color images. The store gives more priority to recommendations customized.

Most pages, including the search results, remain the same in terms of content, but what Google has done is turn them into a much more pleasant experience for the human eye; uses text to separate sections, and introduces large color images to delight our eyes and attract our attention. In Droid Life they have left us the video so that we can see live how Google Play 4.0 works, and we leave it right here, so you don't have to go any further:

Availability and update

Updating Google Play 4.0 Arrives progressively to Android 2.2 or higher. If it doesn't appear yet, just wait; some opt for the APK from reliable sources.

The store reinforces visual clarity, speed y discovery with Holo cards, higher-impact images, optimized shopping, and more present recommendations, while maintaining familiar categories and content.
