Updates always come with bad news for some users, especially for those who did not buy a flagship at the time, but rather a mid-range one, as is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Finally, it seems that this one will not update to Android 5.0 Lollipop due to low memory.
No update
It is not that it is rare to talk about smartphones that run out of update. In fact, we can say that the vast majority of smartphones launched more than a year ago do not update, with the exception of the flagships. And it is rare to see smartphones older than two years that do update to a new version. Companies usually do not work on them due to the little interest they have for each manufacturer, since almost no units are going to be sold anymore, and it takes a lot of work to optimize smartphones with such old components. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the situation is a bit strange. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is going to receive an update, but it seems that the Galaxy Note 2, still before this one, too. The Galaxy S4 Mini is later than the two, and although it is of a lower range, it was sold as a similar phone to the flagship. Now it is shown that in reality, it was not like that, it was just a mid-range smartphone with the name of the flagship to sell more units.

Memory problems
The information comes from the operator Three, which has communicated it to one of the users who was asking about the update to the new version. According to them, the manufacturer has told them that it is due to the memory of the smartphone. It is curious to us, since the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has an internal memory of 8 GB and a RAM of 1,5 GB, when we have seen smartphones running Lollipop with 1 GB of RAM.
Be that as it may, it is clear that companies are putting smartphones aside. In a year they forget the basic range, in two years they forget the mid-range, and in three years there are no longer even the high-end. It is a good way to summarize what happens with the updates.
