It seems that it is confirmed that the Android 4.2.2 update will reach all models of the range of tablets Galaxy Tab 2. Obviously, this will happen in a staggered way, but everything indicates that the latest version of Jelly Bean can be used in this product range that will soon be replaced by new devices.
This is confirmed in SamMobile, for example, but there is a detail that is indicated in this medium that is really interesting and, at the same time, worrying: this could be the last official update that receives this entire range of product ... which can be a real "stick" for those who have one of these tablets.
The reasons that seem to be behind this decision is the processor, which being of two cores It seems that the arrival of future versions of Android, such as Key Lime Pie, would not offer adequate performance and, therefore, it is preferred to keep version 4.2.2. Obviously, third-party developments will show whether this is so or not.
Dates for possible last update
Apparently, the dates that are handled for the latest updates to reach this product range are Q2 or Q3 of this year. That is, it will be at that time when Android 4.2.2 is put into play for the Galaxy Tab 2 (it is even speculated that some models such as GT-P6800 and GT-P6200 could have 4.1.2 available).
