Every year, and practically every month, we see new devices appear with new features and specifications. However, no matter how many new features they bring, the true innovation of smart devices has always resided in applications. We install many of them (If you want to know the applications you use the most), sometimes even the mobile phone is not enough. However, we rarely start to uninstall them, and when we are going to do it, it is a tedious task. Let's see how to uninstall applications in one step, with a single tap.
To facilitate the task of uninstalling Android applications we will use RootUninstaller. Be careful, many of you may think it's only for users with Superuser permissions, but that's not the case. For the purpose we intend to use it for, it's perfectly useful whether or not we have those permissions. It's true that with them, we can uninstall system apps, but if we don't have them, it's very useful to uninstall apps extremely quickly and without wasting time. The ease of use of RootUninstaller is founded on two main things:
- It scans all the applications that we have installed and shows them to us in a list, which allows us to have them all together, without having to search one by one in the menu for the ones we want to uninstall.
- With a single touch on the trash can icon we can uninstall, it is not necessary to enter the menu of each of the applications.
To uninstall any app, we start RootUninstaller. We let it scan and create a list of all the ones we have installed on the device. We find three different types of appsOn one hand, we have the white ones, which are those we can delete and remove from the phone; on the other, we have the red ones, which are the system apps that we can't delete without root; and finally, we have the white ones with the "sdcard" symbol on the right, indicating that the app is stored on the memory card. All the white ones can be uninstalled, whether or not we have root permissions. All we have to do is tap the trash can that appears on the right, being careful not to scroll the screen, and confirm if it asks us any questions. The app will begin uninstalling and will return us to the same menu with the entire list of apps, so we can continue with our task without pausing for a moment.
RootUninstaller is a totally free application and available to all users in Google Play. One of those essential that we must have installed whether we are Root or not.
The basics for removing apps without complications
Before getting technical, remember the easy ways Android offers. With a long press On the icon you can drag to “Uninstall” or open the shortcut menu and tap on App information To uninstall, tap on the app icon. On some models (for example, certain variants where the launcher has limited options), this gesture only displays the “i” button; tap there and continue from the app's tab.
You can also delete from Settings> Applications, useful for finding add-ons that don't appear in the drawer. Another quick way: from the recent view long press the icon and enter its information; or from a notification, long press, tap the gear and access the uninstall tab.
Mass uninstall and cleanup from Google Play
En Play Store > Your Profile > Manage Apps & Device You can select multiple applications and batch uninstall, ideal for freeing up space when heavy games take up too much space. Another option is to search for the app in the Play Store and use the button. uninstall in your file.
If you want to avoid “leftovers”, go to the app Settings > Storage and erase Cache y dataKeep in mind that uninstalling deletes local data; cloud data (if any) will be restored when you reinstall using the same account.
Disable what you cannot delete
When a system app does not allow uninstallation, the safe alternative is Disable. You won't recover space on the system partition, but its execution is stopped, it stops updating and disappears from the drawer. Go to Settings > Apps, open the app and tap Disable/DeactivateIt is reversible if you need it later.
Caution: Disable critical components (telephony, notifications, clock, etc.) may affect the functioningIf in doubt, disable it before thinking about permanently deleting it.
Remove bloatware and system apps with ADB (without root)
To remove pre-installed without root you can use ADB. active Developer Options tapping on “Build Number” several times and enable it USB debugging. Connect your mobile to your computer, open a terminal and run adb devices to confirm the connection. List packets with adb shell pm list packages and deletes for the current user with adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 package.name.
Important: This method does not delete from the system but from the user's active partition; after an update or reset, the app may reappearTo identify the correct package, search for the app in the Play Store web and copy what appears after id = in the URL.
If you prefer to avoid the command line, desktop tools like ADB AppControl allow you to filter bloatware, select multiple apps, and launch a mass uninstall by running ADB commands internally. However, check each package: deleting essential services can cause instability.
If something gets stuck: safe mode and other solutions
There are apps that seem to “not finish” uninstalling due to corruption or crashes; if you have unresponsive applications, try one first rebootIf it persists, enter Safe Mode (Press and hold the power button, then press and hold “Power off” on the screen until you see the safe mode option.) With only system components active, go to Settings > Apps and uninstall without interference.
Additionally, many manufacturers include a system manager (Xiaomi, OPPO, realme, etc.) with power button Optimize which suggests unused apps to remove and clears cache, helping to recover performance and battery.
Avoid leftovers and options to recover data
So that they do not remain residual files, clear cache and data before uninstalling or consider archive applications to free up space. It's more difficult to track them with browsers afterwards. If you make a mistake when deleting local data, just one Backup previous will allow you to recover them; otherwise, there is no system recycle bin to restore them.
On mobiles with plenty of storage the urgency for space is less, but keeping the urgency at bay accumulated cache and uninstalling what you don't use prevents background processes and unnecessary resource consumption.
Other useful tools (without root)
If you are looking to manage apps with more options, there are third-party uninstallers that allow you to organize and alphabetize your apps by size/date, open the tab Google Play, view permissions or share links, in addition to batch uninstallRemember that system apps can't be removed without root; alternatively, disable them or use ADB.
When reinstalling, evaluate versions Lite/Go of some applications to save storage and resources on smaller devices.
