The third and last trial version of Android Marshmallow is a reality, in it as has been seen in a video that we left previously there are some very interesting new features (although there are still some notable absences, such as Now on Tap). The thing is that if you have a Nexus device You might be tempted to try the upgrade, and we'll provide what you need to get it done if you decide to.
The first thing you have to know is that, for the moment, the Google models that already have the corresponding firmware available are the following: Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. The rest, in a short time will have their corresponding ration, but there is no choice but to be patient until this happens.
The fact is that in all cases what needs to be done to download the ROM specific is to access this link and select the Nexus model in which you want to install Android Marshmallow. Check this page from time to time, since it is on this page that the firmware will be published for models that do not have it yet, and the steps that we are going to explain are identical for all models, so you can follow the tutorial if necessary.
Tip: if you already had one installed Developer Preview, the most common way is to receive an OTA update automatically. If you don't receive it or prefer to start from scratch, the manual installation with factory image is the fastest alternative. Always do a Backup because the process may erase your data.
Install Android Marshmallow

The first thing you should do is make sure that the device has a battery charge of at least the 90%. Once this is done and you have obtained the installation file, you can begin the process - which is the sole responsibility of the user - always keeping in mind that you have the ADB tools installed on your computer (you can get them here). This is what you have to do To install Android Marshmallow:
- Unzip the content of the ZIP file that you have obtained
- Turn off the Nexus device
- Turn it on now in Fastboot mode, which you can do by pressing the Power + Volume Down buttons in combination
- Connect the Nexus device on which you want to install Android Marshmallow to your computer
- Open a command window in the ADB-Tools folder
- Write this consecutively:
fastboot devicesyfastboot oem unlock - Now you must select Yes on the Nexus device
- Access the folder where you have unzipped the downloaded firmware and run the file
flash-all.bat - Be patient and wait for the process to be completed with which you will be able to install Android Marshmallow on your Nexus

adb devicesand that the drivers y platform-tools are correctly installed. - If you prefer not to start from scratch, the way OTA keeps your data, but it may take a while to arrive.
Manual installation via OTA (ADB sideload)
If you have the incremental update ZIP file, you can apply the OTA manually without formatting. This method is useful for upgrade from a previous version compatible.
- Save the OTA ZIP to the folder platform-tools of the Android SDK.
- Turn off the Nexus and enter the bootloader (Volume down + Power). Access Recovery.
- When you see the exclamation point icon, press Volume up + Power at once to display the menu.
- Choose apply update from ADB.
- On the computer run:
adb sideload nombre-de-la-actualizacion.zipand wait for it to finish.
Compatibility and alternatives for older models
Los Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Player are the main ones compatible with Google factory images. For older devices, such as Nexus 4 or even Galaxy Nexus, the community has offered unofficial solutions: builds based on AOSP and ROMs like Cyanogen Mod 13 Nightly. These options allow you to test Marshmallow with key features (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and camera in many cases), but may present errors, are not endorsed by Google and require advanced flashing and crash recovery knowledge.
What's new when you update
Marshmallow introduces improvements aimed at Privacy & Security as granular permissions per-app, which allows you to decide what each app accesses at runtime, and native support in 23 API for fingerprint reader, facilitating integration with third-party apps and increasing convenience when unlocking and authorizing payments or logins.
Others tutorials for terminals with Google operating system you can meet them in this link. Here you will find options of all kinds that will surely be useful to you.
By following these instructions you can install Android Marshmallow on your Nexus with guarantees: official download, driver verification, choice between clean installation or OTA via ADB and, if your device is older, community alternatives with due precautions.
