Free smartphones

One of the most relevant companies for the number of smartphones and tablets they sell each year, as well as for the different smartphones and tablets they launch on the market. Samsung already has some updates available for some of its smartphones, although the truth is that most of them are still waiting for the new version. In any case, all the high-end will have Android 5.0 Lollipop. These are what Samsung has updated or will update, and the date of the update:

HTC

The company confirmed when Android 5.0 Lollipop was released that the update would hit its smartphones in less than 90 days. In some cases this has been the case. In others, finally no. Sony

Sony has never been one of the most notable companies when it comes to smartphone updates. In fact, the company has been criticized for not releasing the update for relatively recent smartphones, or for announcing updates that have not arrived later. Just very recently, information has emerged that could confirm that Sony will not update smartphones other than Xperia Z. Bad news for those who do not have one of the company's high-end smartphones, as some from last year could have perfectly updated . • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: It should arrive in March 2015.

The company has focused on launching a new version of MIUI with news, although it is not based on Lollipop. We can say that it is another world. OnePlus

Little to say about the OnePlus One, so far the only OnePlus smartphone. The company has made very relevant modifications to the software of its smartphone, changing the original interface now for a new version of its own operating system, albeit based on Android. Farewell to Cyanogen, to welcome the new Oxygen. In any case, and as they have said, expected the update to land in the middle or end of this month.

Meizu

Another of the greats among Chinese companies. Meizu has the most powerful smartphone of last year, the Meizu MX4. Now it can be officially obtained in Spain, so it is a smartphone to take into account, and more so now that we know that it will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop very soon, both it and the MX4 Pro.

Acer

Perhaps it is not the most prominent company in the Android smartphone market, especially since a large part of its smartphones are entry-level. In any case, Acer is also striving to get a smartphone with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Although it is not too much, if you have an Acer Liquid Jade S, at least you can upgrade.

Asus

Similar situation for Asus, despite the fact that this company has a greater relevance in the market for Android smartphones and tablets. However, we have little data, and none official.

Nvidia

Nvidia was not even a company that made tablets to sell to the market, but was specialized in the design of processors and graphics cards. We left it almost to the end, despite being one of the largest manufacturers in the world, thanks to the purchase of Motorola. From now on they will have much more presence in the market. Notable absences

You may have noticed some notable absences on this list. An example is that of Huawei smartphones.
